User-Centered Design (UCD) helps create design solutions that are useful and usable by focusing on user needs at every stage of development. My goal is to create intuitive digital products that support user needs through meaningful and effective design. While design is my hub, as a User Experience Specialist I also bring deep experience in the spokes of user research, content strategy, information architecture, usability, and analytics.
My hub-and-spoke model
While working as a contractor with the federal government for six years, I have had the pleasure of supporting efforts to define the future of public health—leading the user experience (UX) methodology for many projects over the years. I conducted heuristic evaluations, user research, usability studies, redesigned several websites for both external and internal audiences, and designed mobile apps for both health care providers and the general public.
